249 - In Memory of Chico

November 2011 - I started carving this little guy a couple years ago and for some reason I put it down and never got back to it. I carved it out of a large piece of willow given to me by a friend and my pattern was a picture of my daughter's little French Poodle, Chico who has since passed away so this will be sort of a memorial to Chico who was about 5 years old. The wood was almost the same color as Chico so I didn't have to do much painting but did apply a light wash of acrylic paint and then sealed it with clear carnoba floor wax. He stands about 7.5 inches tall and is about 7.5 inches long.
